EDEL VENT can support its business partners also with diagnostic activities. We are equipped with modern digital apparatus for measurement of air-conditioning parameters in various systems and for measurement of fan capacities.
As the fan manufacture, we are of course equipped with the latest technique for diagnosing vibrations and condition of bearings. Our trained and experienced technicians can diagnose a fan with troubles without any problems; they can propose and implement measure to improve technical condition of whichever fan or other rotary equipment. Lasers for adjustment of couplings, chain drives etc. are taken for granted. Trained technicians, supported by the most modern digital diagnostic and measuring instrumentation, predetermine our company to high professionalism and quality of performed work, which is proven by provision of our diagnostic and service works already for several years to our regular customers.
Technical diagnostics:
„The aim of regular diagnostics is to ensure reliable operation of equipment, and effective use of energies thanks to correct operation of machines and equipment, to ensure personnel as well as environmental safety, namely by revealing less serious failures, which may develop to more serious failures leading to failure of the entire machine, by regular monitoring of condition of machines and equipment. Regular diagnostics and maintenance of machines reduces a risk of the machine failure to minimum, which unambiguously saves costs related to unexpected idle time and directly costs for remedy of machine failure consequences. “
Diagnostics and assessment of condition of machines:
- measurements are made using measuring instrumentation from reputable manufacturers of measuring and diagnostic technique without limitation of operation of machines except some specific measurements (start-up/follow-up – measurement and determination of resonance frequency system, BUMP test, measurement and analysis of phases)
- measurements and evaluation of measurements will be made on the basis of respective international standard
- a protocol about the machine measurement will be prepared from each measurement; it will contain measurement results, machine scheme and description, identification of measuring points, machine classification pursuant to respective standard, evaluation of condition of bearings and vibrations, description of found-out defects and proposal for their remedy
- measured data and values are recorded and stored into a database, which will enable comparison with previous values during the next measurement, and determination of a defect development trend
- if imbalance, non-alignment, incorrect adjustment of pulleys and tension of belts or other damages (damaged – worn bearings, worn coupling element etc.) are detected as the reason during measurement or follow-up analysis, we will make dynamic balancing, adjust alignment, adjust the belt transmission, replace bearings – coupling element and shaft coupling directly in site using own bearings or supports on agreed date, if agreed with the customer
- after the service, we recommend making a new check measurement and, if needed, to make another correction of the situation, if needed
Balancing of rotors, optic laser adjustment of pulleys and adjustment of alignment of shafts:
- dynamic balancing of impellers of fans by a technician directly in site
- optic laser adjustment of pulleys, check of correct tension of belt transmissions, or correct tensions of belts
- adjustment of alignment of shafts with high-precious laser apparatus
- issuance of protocols about balancing and check measurement in compliance with valid standards
- issuance of a protocol about adjustment – alignment of shafts with graphic displaying
- dynamic balancing is made directly on site by a method of adding weights according to STN ISO 1940 provided that trouble-free access to rotor and required safety of workers are ensured
- the weights are added to and fixed on rotors usually by welding, by welding the balancing weights on, in case of materials other than steel, where the balancing weights cannot be welded on – e.g. polypropylene, aluminium etc. - the weights are fixed by drilling holes and screwing the balancing weights on.
- the balancing is made as needed and, based on the rotor type, in one or two planes
- after balancing, check measurement and assessment pursuant to STN ISO 10816 are made, and a protocol about balancing and check measurement of the machine is issued
- optic laser adjustment of pulleys and adjustment of correct tension are made directly on site by a technician when the machine is switched off and secured
- adjustment of alignment of shafts is made directly on site by a technician when the machine is switched off and secured; exact packing sheets with thickness tolerance are used
“Imbalance results in increased stresses, and therefore in wear of bearings, and mechanical stress of rotor supports, which can finally evoke damage to the rotor support, and also damage to the rotor itself. The imbalance may cause also rotor deviations, which can be inadmissible with regard to operating conditions.”
“Non-alignment of shafts in rotary devices is a reason of many failures and it can evoke also many other problems, such as overloading and vibrations, leading to premature damage of bearings, seals, couplings etc. Moreover, the shaft non-alignment may markedly increase energy consumption.”
“Precise alignment of machines driven by belts is necessary if we want to extend lifetime of belts and pulleys, reduce vibrations and electricity costs.”
